Breathless Puppets

Breathless Puppets is an intimate short film co-created by Akram and Naaman Azhari. The story is captured by delicate rotoscope animation and is part of a series of films produced as a response to the Covid-19 pandemic, Postcards from Now.

The narrative follows two boys intrinsically connected by their affinity to dance and their disapproving fathers. The journey we go on sees them reunite as men through the tragedy of the pandemic.

Breathless Puppets premiered in July 2021 as part of Manchester International Festival’s Postcards From Now film series. To find out more and watch the film, click here.
