Training & Practice
We provide training opportunities for dance communities and ecosystems locally and globally, and facilitate opportunities for practitioners to share and further their practice. This manifests in structures such as our Intensives previously including, our Summer and Classical intensives.
Repertoire workshop Programme
We deliver repertoire workshops to dance schools, dance festivals, national and international venues and companies.
Creative Learning
We develop and deliver creative learning resources and opportunities for artists, teachers and practitioners to develop their knowledge, confidence and skills to deliver dance/arts sessions. We aim to inspire disengaged young people within areas under-represented by publicly funded culture.
Teacher Training Programme
We have launched a training programme for primary school teachers (including Special Educational Need schools), engaging with classrooms through regular in-school dance sessions over the year. Funded by Paul Hamlyn Foundation “Teacher’s Development Fund”.
Learning Resources & Workshops
Based on the creative learning resources and full-length films of Chotto Desh, Chotto Xenos and Jungle Book reimagined, we collaborate with local practitioners and dance consortium/networks to deliver school workshops and CPD sessions across England
Digital Learning Resources
We collect and curate resources, experiences and stories throughout the process.
Process & Creativity
We design and deliver bespoke engagement and immersion projects with territorial partners to provide generations with opportunities to creatively engage with who they are – specifically working with communities whose stories and voices are unheard.
Living Museum
Integral to the process, the curation of a digital journal will be used as an artistic tool and device, for participants to develop creativity and compile their stories through a variety of materials, formats, mediums (movement, audio, drawing, writing, video…), making the most diverse voices be heard. This collection of stories will be accessible online (AKC website/specific digital platform, AKC social media and video channels), engaging with existing and new audiences and communities. Our ambition in the long-term is to create an AKC digital museum of stories that connect people locally and around the world, celebrating differences through our five values.
Digital Creation
We produce specific artistic films, curated programmes
