Amrita Doshi is a New York–based Bharatanatyam dancer who has trained extensively under Gurus Viji Prakash and Mythili Prakash. She has toured nationally and internationally with the Mythili Prakash Dance Ensemble, Jiva Dance (Sonali Skandan, with mentorship from Maya Kulkarni), Shakti Dance Company (Viji Prakash), and Prakriti Dance Company (Kasi Aysola), with performances presented at festivals including Jacob’s Pillow and Drive East. Her artistic practice is shaped by dance as a medium for connection, healing, spirituality and storytelling. Rooted in a deep commitment to community, Amrita co-founded NYC Adavu in 2018 and has produced and curated performances that uplift emerging South Asian artists. Most recently, she created her first dance film, Aharya, supported by Jiva Dance and IMGE Dance. Beyond dance, Amrita is also a co-founder of South Asian SOAR, a national organisation committed to preventing and ending gender-based violence.
