Kristina Alleyne

Dancer

Kristina Alleyne was born in London and originally trained as an athlete. She trained at the BRIT School of Performing Arts and Technology (BRITS) 2003-05, and Northern School of Contemporary Dance (NSCD) based in Leeds 2005-08.

Kristina’s dance experience started through Hip Hop where she joined such companies as Boy Blue Entertainment and international company Dance2Xcess. After Kristina completed her postgraduate Diploma with postgraduate dance performance company Verve in 2009, she moved on to work/tour with such companies/choreographers as Tavaziva Dance, Arthur Pita, Ijad Dance and Technology Company, African Company Fritti, Retina Dance Company, Henri Oguike Dance Company, Helen Parlor, ACE Dance and Music, Micheal Thomas Voss and Chisato Minamimura.

From 2011 Kristina joined Akram Khan Company for its production iTMOi, and performed at the London 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony in the section choreographed by Akram Khan. She has also led workshops internationally as part of A.K.C.T. In 2014-16 Kristina is touring the remount of Kaash.

Kristina joined forces with her twin sister Sadé Alleyne to start up their own education/performance company, and in 2014 ALLEYNE DANCE was launched. The Company has been involved with Dance Mission (San Francisco, USA), GLL Sportathon (London, UK), B40 Youth Group, Academy of Performing Arts (London, UK), CAT Schemes (London/ Nottingham/ Birmingham/ Manchester/ Leeds), Dance 4 (Nottingham, UK), The Bird College (London, UK), and will be returning to HJS Summer Intensive (Amsterdam, Netherlands) and Impulstanz Festival 2016 (Vienna, Austria).
