Rush (2000)

Premiere: 5 Oct 2000, Midlands Arts Centre, Birmingham
Duration: 30 mins

A purely abstract work inspired by the observation of paragliders in “freefall˜, a physical state between tremendous speed and serene stillness. A rare Indian cycle of nine and a half beats is the choreography basic structure for movement, space and music.

In 2004 Rush became part of the A-levels syllabus in the UK.

Rush has been commissioned by Dance Umbrella, Yorkshire Dance Centre, DanceEast, Birmingham DanceXchange and Sampad.

Rush has been co-produced by P.A.R.T.S (performing arts research training studios) in Brussels as part of The X group project and has been supported by Charleroi Danse in Belgium.
