AKCT (Advanced Kathak & Contemporary Dance Training) is the charitable arm of the Akram Khan Company. It was created in March 2005 to provide training, research and development for artists who have had an association with the Company or who have expressed an interest to know more about its work.
This would be either through direct funding of self-initiated programmes of activity or through specially developed schemes by Akram Khan and his producer Farooq Chaudhry.
To date AKCT has funded and supported the following artists and activities:

Two week course devised by Akram Khan & Farooq Chaudhry to provide company dancers /musicians with guest dancers from China and Thailand an introduction to classical kathak. In addition participants explored through set tasks various processes to create and develop their own material (Course evaluations attached) (November 2005)

All the company’s published materials will be digitally archived for easier private and public reference. This unique initiative is funded by Akram Khan Company’s international income and is managed by the Company.
